If you haven't seen Hay House's Lifestyles series of gorgeous gift books, there is no better way to acquaint yourself than with publisher/author Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life. A bestseller for many years, You Can Heal Your Life has been republished with bright, beautiful illustrations in full, living color and exquisite typography--each and every page is a work of art by artist Joan Perrin Falquet. The timeless message of the book is that we are each responsible for our own reality and "dis-ease." Hay believes we make ourselves ill by having thoughts of self-hatred. She includes a directory of ailments and emotional causes for each with a corresponding affirmation to help overcome the illness. For example, the probable cause of multiple sclerosis is "mental hardness, hard-heartedness, iron will, and inflexibility." The healing "thought pattern" would be: "By choosing loving, joyous thoughts, I created a loving joyous world. I am safe and free." --P. Randall Cohan --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
The four tapes in this collection describe our emotional ills and methods for curing them. Louise Hay has practiced successfully as a therapist for many years; her doctrines and exercises have a huge following. In the audio presentations her delivery is clear and energetic. Her voice and speech are conversational. No matter what bias one brings to the listening, the material offers much to think about. J.P. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine --This text refers to the Audio Cassette edition.
Louise explains how limiting beliefs and ideas are often the cause of illness, and how you can change your thinking...and improve the quality of your life.
This New York Times bestseller has sold over 1.5 million copies. Its key message: If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed. For all who are looking for a source of inspiration on the path to self-discovery.
It works, September 22, 2000 Reviewer: A reader from Tokyo Japan
I decided to use the herpes affirmation the last time I had an outbreak and instead of lasting 7 days, it was gone in 5, a significant improvement. I think I could have shortened it even more because I didn't use the affirmation at all on day 2. It had also improved my success with the opposite sex. She makes statements that sound outrageous unless you have read Buddhist and Hindu literature about karma, etc. But if you just give the book a chance, doing the exercises despite feeling funny about it like I did, it will work, and you will begin to think, "Hey, maybe Hay's ideas aren't so off the wall after all." --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

A true healer, August 24, 2000 Reviewer: moonfaery from Toronto
All the "this book saved my life" reviews couldn't say it better. This book teaches people about the true nature of illnesses, and how to heal them. The best of all is, it works. Even if you're not going through a difficult illness, the information in this book is essential to anyone who wants to help and/or heal others. Or simply understand where do illnesses come from, and how to heal them from within. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
Wonderful!, August 19, 2000 Reviewer: Gale Thacker from IL
This book came into my life at the perfect time. I was struggling-ready to make a change in my life- but lacked the courage to actually just do it! "You Can Heal Your Life" inspired me to move on. Louise writes this book in simple terms. Those who have been "on the path" for awhile can gain encouragement from this book. For those just starting- it is written in well and will not lose you! The affirmations, alone, are worth buying the book for. I thank Loiuse for bringing forth her gifts and sharing with us. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Open your mind - your life can improve!, June 29, 2000 Reviewer: katherine_quirke from Woronora Heights, NSW Australia
This is an excellent book that I will read over and over again. I have been using many of the teachings in this book with very positive results. Highly recommended if you are not totally relaxed and happy with your life - it gives you a perspective that will help you to enjoy what you have and to listen to what the universe has for you. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
This is The Handbook for Happiness, May 16, 2000 Reviewer: A reader from San Francisco
The best self-help and self-improvement book on the market. My life began to change the day I started listening to the tapes (I bought the audio book.) The lessons that Louise teaches are simple, yet incredibly profound. If you want to appreciate and create more happiness in your life...no matter what your outside circumstances are, then this is the book for you. I also bought the workbook and have really enjoyed that tool as well. Save the thousands that you might spend on therapy and buy this book instead. It really is excellent.
Great book, but, April 5, 2000 Reviewer: A reader from NY
I am a little skeptical of the use of positive thinking to cure diseases like cancer. However, I like to use her ideas to cure diseases like life! Her positive thinking and affirmations have helped me through many tough times - I do believe that it is my beliefs that attract certain situations and people to me. Again, though, I can't get into the idea that a disease (such as cancer)comes to a person through her beliefs and thoughts.
Easy to understand and apply!, March 11, 2000 Reviewer: Janice Neal from Arizona
I have read various self-help books including Carolyn Myss and others. Louise Hay communicates her insights in an incredibly easy to understand manner. I have told others about her books and they agree. Buy it! You won't be sorry!
The Holy Grail, February 7, 2000 Reviewer: Elane Keenan from Albuquerque, NM
I bought You Can Heal Your Life on Tape and recommend this to others because Louise Hay has a voice that seems to magicaly heal you. I have been able to heal my life from past childhood issues, rape, parents, and drugs. My life now, is one that allows my dreams to come true. I loan the tapes to others and they are having excellent results. I have saved myself thousands of dollars in therapy sessions. I now have the peace, contentment, success and happiness that I never knew was possible. This is the best money that I have or will ever spend.
What a Gorgeous Book!, January 10, 2000 Reviewer: Lucille Splichal from New York City
I've been working on myself for awhile and Louise Hay continues to be one of my greatest influences. Her approach is simple yet so complete and the results are profound. I love this book - everything is in here and it is such a joy to read and look at. I find the illustrations alone to be uplifting. Thanks Louise! You give me so much hope. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
This Book Saved My Life, December 21, 1999 Reviewer: Mark Johnson from Denton, TX
Louise Hay has been there and done that and this is evidenced by the content of her book. When I first bought a copy of You Can Heal Her Life, I read the first 2 chapters, and put the book down. I was angry because Ms Hay was telling me like it was, and I didn't want to hear the truth. I didn't want to look at myself and take responsibility for my life and my happiness and my health. I wanted to be told that My situation was beyond my control. A couple of years later, I picked up that copy of You Can Heal Your Life, ready to read it and hear the truth that saved Ms Hay's life, years before. As I worked through the exercises and started practicing the affirmations in the way Ms Hay instructed, I literally began to heal my life of suicidal depression, kidney disfunction, arthritis, and the hurt of child sexual abuse, as well as a slew of other problems. A miracle happened. I started to become happy. Since this time, I have continued to use the mirror exercises and affirmations that she describes, and continued to work to change my thought patterns. As a result of this, my attitudes have changed, and I have become a much more positive, optimistic person. Everything that I need in life seems to come to me as I need it. I used to get sick with great regularity, catching everything whether it was a common disease/disorder or not, and I rarely get sick or become injured now. I am happy almost every day and am seeing my dreams come true. The last 10 years, since I read You Can Heal Your Life for the first time, have been a wonderous journey, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. While I did the work, I owe a debt of gratitude to Louise Hay for writing and marketing this book so that her message could reach me and countless others. I have seen the same kind of results in almost a dozen other people who have read You Can Heal Your Life. There is a better way, and this is it. Give it a try, you're worth it! Love and Peace! --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Hits the (sore) spot!, October 1, 1999 Reviewer: A reader from Danville, Kentucky
I have had a copy of this book for years. Whenever I have dis-ease, I refer to it. If I think about what's going on in my life and am totally honest with myself, it never fails to give me insight into what's going on with my body. More importantly, I use the affirmations in various ways to release the underlying causes. A must-have for anyone serious about self-discovery!
A book that really heals, August 18, 1999 Reviewer: A reader from USA
I bought her first edition of this book years ago when I was told I had cancer (which I cured)and have referred to it many times.you can tell by how battered mine is. I use to give it to friends to read, now I just buy it for them. This book is great, when in doubt re read it and it will show you the answer. I use to be a bartender and listened to hundreds of peoples problem's so I know what it is to help people. You have to look passed her ( Ms Hays) Godliness and just see the spiritual side. Good luck to all that read it..
This book opened a new world for me, July 30, 1999 Reviewer: A reader from Madrid, Spain
I think this is a wonderful book. After reading it, I finally figured out "what was wrong with me" and the answer was that there is nothing wrong me. There is a lot of anger and self-hatred, but I am a worthy human being. After reading You Can Heal Your Life I have managed to face my covert depression and seek help. I have also developed a great interest in self-help psychology. Thank you Louise for everything!

I made fun with my sister when she bought this book. I am a doctor and I laughed at the idea "healing yourself with thinking!". It was the best thing I have ever done to start reading the book. Now I know what and who I am. I was a step beyond suicide and now I love my life.

Become aware of how our thoughts shape our lives, April 10, 1999 Reviewer: A reader from Santa Cruz, CA
This book was the first "self help" book I ever picked up. It opened up a whole new perspective on life for me. It was fascinating to me to discover how our thoughts really shape our lives and how we DO have the control to think about a situation in whichever way we choose. In the center of this book she includes an extensive list of common ailments and the probable thought patterns that created the condition (a cold, cancer, etc). I would recommend this book to everyone I know. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

A must-read healing book, January 31, 1999 Reviewer: firstname.lastname@example.org from NYC
Louise does not intellectualize, but helps the reader put affirmations of power into action. It's a do book, not a sit and read and think about book. Once one reads the book once, one will read it over and over again and practice the exercises. I rate Louise Hay #1 out of all the healing practitioners in her field. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.
Think about the mental cause of a sickness in seeking a cure, January 13, 1999 Reviewer: email@example.com from Auckland, New Zealand
This is a very helpfull book. Look at your ailments to see how to deal with them in both mental and physical space.
I do not see this as a book that deals only with mental healing but rather it presents an approach for the whole person. It is an excellent book, heavy on the emotional side but a bit light on the technical side. But then this is not really a problem as most other books on health are exclusivly physical so a balance can readily be found for the discerning reader. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.
My new favourite book!, January 3, 1999 Reviewer: A reader from New Zealand

Louise Hay helped save my life., October 13, 1998 Reviewer: Paige Martin (n2ition firstname.lastname@example.org) from Huntsville, Alabama
A friend at my church handed this book to me after a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Disease and encouraged me to read it. He said it had helped him in his life. I didn't know this guy very well and I have not seen him since then. I am embarrassed that I can't even remember his name. However, I will forever be grateful to him. The book helped me find so many truths about the way I had been living my life and the ultimate responsibility that I had in staying healthy. I learned there were many things I could do myself that I had never known I had the power or abiltiy to do. I survived cancer and a long illness recovering from a bone-marrow transplant. I owe my life to wonderful, blessed people like Louise B. Hay. I recommend this book to anyone suffering in any way, in their physical or emotional life. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

Great way to identify the disease, and rectify it, January 14, 1997 Reviewer: A reader
I highly recommend this book to my clients. It takes one through the twelve step program without blaming subtances.I have found in my many years of reading that disfunctions are only a symptom. When looking at the back of the book , one can look up what is (Ailing them). The metaphysical cause, I have found, is uncannily right on target . When one looks up what's bothering them, they are usually startled to see the simple truth of the cause in black and white. Rarely have I seen anyone deny the reality once they have read it.
